Meno a Kwena

Meno a Kwena is located on the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on the Boteti river to the east of Maun (1½ hours by road). Set 20 metres up on the banks of the river it gives spectacular views across the park.

The central lodge area is almost nomadic in style, old chests and antique furniture abound. There is a camp fire in the central sandy area and two main very comfortable covered areas to sit overlooking the river in front. In the same location is a beautiful stone built almost ‘watering hole’ style splash pool.

There are 8 meru style tents. Each tent is set in its own private kraal which contains a separate bathroom and toilet. They all overlook the river.

A path winds down to the river where there is a floating hide. It is equipped with leather and wooden antique style picnic chests and cool boxes. Many elephants, sometimes lions and numerous other animals come down to the river straight opposite to drink and bathe just a few metres away.

The camp is privately owned and run and is very involved with many community and conservation projects.

One great advantage of this camp is that you can book fully inclusive or accommodation only and pay for food, drink and excursions pro rata.
